Introduction

Epilepsy is more than just seizures. Therefore, as part of standard clinical care, we would like you to complete two brief questionnaires about living with epilepsy. These ask about your mood and possible symptoms of depression.

The effects of epilepsy can vary at different points in your life. We want to ensure we are here to offer you appropriate support whenever you need it. Therefore, we may ask you to complete these questionnaires when you attend outpatient clinics in the future.

We will use your responses to help us decide what, if any, matched-care psychological interventions might be helpful to offer you. An assistant psychologist may contact you by phone to discuss your responses to the questionnaires if follow-up is required.

Your responses to these questionnaires will be available to your neurologist and your epilepsy specialist nurse and will be recorded on your NHS Lothian electronic patient record. We may also share them with your GP.
